Kazakhstan and China Discussed Issues of Trade and Economic Cooperation


The conference was opened with welcoming speeches by Arman Shakkaliyev, Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Zuo Yongxiang, Vice-Governor of Sichuan Province, who stressed the great potential for deepening trade and investment cooperation.


The conference on “New approaches in the development of trade relations between Kazakhstan and China” was held in Astana within the framework of the second Forum of Exporters of Kazakhstan with representatives of business and government agencies of the two countries. Yerzhan Yelekeyev, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST,” made a presentation on the investment climate of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the event.

The Chairman of the national company told the participants about the country’s investment attractiveness, the activities of KAZAKH INVEST, and measures of state support, inviting Chinese partners to further cooperation.

“Thanks to the possibilities of multimodal logistics and numerous transcontinental routes, Kazakhstan is one of the key participants in the Chinese Belt and Road initiative. We strive to expand our country’s transit and export potential and our role in world trade. In this regard, China is our strategic partner,” noted Y. Yelekeyev.

Daulet Alibi, Head of Cooperation with Asian countries at KAZAKH INVEST, spoke at a panel session on developing small and medium-sized businesses. The representative of the national company informed the participants about the dynamic business development in Kazakhstan and the ongoing policy to increase the country’s economic potential, including attracting Chinese investments.

The event was a major event for specialists and companies involved in developing trade and investment with China. It provided a unique platform for establishing partnerships and discussing topical issues.
